Southwest General offers a variety of programs for adults including Adult Behavioral Health, Senior Mental Health, and an outpatient mental health program. Our staff includes a multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, advanced practice nurses, registered nurses, psychiatric counselors, social workers, and activity therapists.
Our program offers psychiatric assessments and treatment, specialized nursing, and medical evaluation. We attempt to prepare our patients for life after they are discharged by providing after care services and medication management, as well as follow-up planning.
Southwest General Hospital offers a full range of treatment options in a private, confidential, and safe setting that empowers patients and promotes emotional growth and wellness. To start the referral process for yourself or someone you know, please call (210) 927-8948.
We offer a Mental Health Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
The program is designed as an alternative to inpatient hospitalization. It provides structured daytime treatment for individuals who need more rigorous care for psychiatric symptoms rather than traditional outpatient care, yet who are stable enough to return home each evening. The Intensive Outpatient Program occurs 3 days per week.
The program services are time limited and conclude when the patient’s immediate problems are stabilized.

The Adult Mental Health Program offers inpatient treatment and outpatient programs to serve individuals 18 years and older.
